A comprehensive blood test to know about your metabolism and the health of your body.

Thierry Clerc is a health practitioner based in Cambridge. His main therapeutic approach uses a mix of homeopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine and also a strong emphasis on communications. Thierry Clerc’s training  also covers conventional medicine, as Thierry is supportive of working in cooperation with other practitioners, including conventional doctors.

This post is about blood tests and how Thierry uses them in his practice.

For most people. when a health issue arises, their first port of call is to see a conventional doctor and this doctor will ask for a blood test in order to find out a specific cause.

The blood test will provide clarity on the issue and the doctor will often suggest medications to help bring the blood readings back into normal range. Blood tests are an effective way to get a picture of how our inner body works.

As a health practitioner, whose aim is to use non-toxic medications as much as possible, Thierry has found blood tests often invaluable, but also sometimes misleading. The body being an extremely complex mechanism, 3 or 4 blood test readings may help to pinpoint a weakened organ. However, this organ may be weakened because of other influences.

In order for Thierry to provide a good level of care within his own understanding of health, he would often ask the patient for more blood tests.

While some doctors are open to more investigations, Thierry has found that often, his patients are reluctant to ask their doctors for more analysis. Doing blood tests privately can also be expensive and complex.

For this reason, Thierry has set up a specific agreement with a blood laboratory, in order to get a reasonable price, for what he thinks is the most comprehensive blood test.

This allows Thierry to provide this test to my client at a cost equivalent to 40% of what it would cost them to do privately.

The blood test covers the following:

Haematology: Haemoglobin levels, HCT, Red Cell count, MCV, MCH, MCHC (g/l), RDW, Platelet Count, MPV, White Cell Count, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, ESR
Biochemistry: sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, urea, creatinine, bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate phosphatase, alanine transferase, LDH, CK, Gamma GT, Total protein, albumin, globulin, calcium, corrected calcium, phosphate, uric acid, fasting blood glucose, amylase, fasting triglycerides, fasting cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, HDL % cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, iron, T.I.B.C, transferrin saturation, C Reactive protein, lipase
Endocrinology: Thyroid stimulating hormone, Free Thyroxine
– Vitamins: Vitamin D (optional but very useful)

If other tests are required (for example for female reproductive issues, or prostate issues), then I can offer you a customised package, which will cover the required.

If for any reason, this is of interest to you, please contact us directly.
