Focus on a Condition – Losing Weight

Weight is often taken as calorie-count, and the logic is, to lose weight, then reducing calories and meals is a way forward. However, there is another side to it, very common with the Western lifestyle: most people who have a weight issue because they do not eliminate well. For this reason, they have a “toxicity overload”, and if this can’t be eliminated, the body will try to store it in fat.

This can be caused by a sluggish digestive system, an overloaded liver, an extremely poor diet, or an imbalanced intestinal flora is imbalance. If this is the case, changing the type of food and supporting any organic weakness may work better than reducing the overall amount eaten.
Common symptoms of toxicity overload include sluggishness, feeling tired while having problems to sleep (especially around 3 or 5AM!), addiction to coffee, tea or sweets, and bloating after eating food.

Another group of people have weight issues because their blood sugar balance is out of control: these people  may literally starve themselves, resulting in the blood sugar balance going too low, which will result in sweet food craving. Binge-eating will increase the blood sugar balance, and the body will store anything extra in fat.

An approach based on supporting the digestive system, and on eliminating hard-to-digest food while increasing intake of good food, such as green vegetables and vegetables proteins can help. Probiotics and prebiotics can also be recommended if there are signs of digestive issues.
Remember that digestion starts in the mouth. To ensure you get the best of what you eat, try and eat slowly, enjoying and chewing your food properly. As it takes about 10/15 minutes for the stomach to kick in acid juices, have a starter, such as a salad, and eat over at least 30 minutes.
